Transportation to Appointments and Errands
Giving up driving should not mean giving up a life outside the house. Safe rides with someone who walks in with them, not just a drop off at the curb.
For many older adults, the day they stop driving is the day their world shrinks. Appointments get missed, groceries run low, and friendships fade because getting there became too complicated.
Our caregivers provide safe transportation and, just as importantly, go in with them. That means help to the car, into the building, through the appointment if wanted, and back home with the groceries carried inside. A rideshare cannot do that.
Having someone at a medical appointment also means someone hears what the doctor said. With your permission, the caregiver can share what was discussed so nothing important gets lost between the office and home.
Questions About Transportation
Whose vehicle is used?
This is arranged during the intake and depends on the caregiver and your preference. Some families prefer their loved one's own car, which is often more comfortable and easier to get in and out of.
Will the caregiver stay during the appointment?
Yes if you want that. Many families ask the caregiver to go in, take notes, and pass along what the doctor said.
Can you take my parent to non-medical places?
Yes. Church, the hairdresser, the grocery store, a friend's house, a grandchild's game. Getting out matters as much as the medical trips.
How far will you travel?
We serve Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, and Monroe counties. Longer trips to specialists outside the area can usually be arranged, so just ask.
