Specialized Nonmedical Care for Children

Support for children with disabilities, developmental needs, or behavioral challenges, and real respite for the families caring for them.

We provide nonmedical support for children who may need assistance because of disabilities, developmental needs, behavioral challenges, or other circumstances requiring additional supervision and support.

Families raising a child with high needs often carry it without much help. Schools cover part of the day, therapies cover appointments, and everything in between falls to the parents. That gap is where this service sits: consistent, familiar support with daily routines, transitions, safety, and the ordinary parts of childhood that still need to happen.

This is nonmedical care. Our caregivers do not provide nursing or therapy, and they are not a substitute for your child's clinical team. What they do provide is a steady, trained presence who learns your child's routines, respects what works, and gives the family room to breathe.

Del Rio Care Group's founder, Edna Hill, brings fifteen years of experience caring for children with disabilities, more than twenty years working with individuals with dual diagnoses, and training in retraumatization-informed care. That background shapes how every plan is built and how caregivers are matched.

Questions About Care for Children

Is this medical care for my child?

No. Del Rio Care Group provides nonmedical support only. That means supervision, personal care and hygiene support, help with routines, companionship, and community outings. We do not provide nursing, therapy, or any clinical treatment, and we work alongside whatever medical or therapeutic providers your child already has.

What kind of experience do your caregivers have with children?

Our founder, Edna Hill, has fifteen years of experience caring for children with disabilities, more than twenty years working with individuals with dual diagnoses, and training in dementia care and retraumatization-informed care. Caregivers are matched to a child based on that child's specific needs.

Can this give our family a break?

Yes. Respite is one of the most common reasons families ask about this service. Parents caring for a child with high needs often go a long time without rest, and scheduled support makes that possible without handing your child to a stranger.

How do you decide what support my child needs?

We start with a free in-home assessment and build the plan around your child, not a template. Routines, preferences, triggers, what helps and what does not, all of it comes from you. You also meet the caregiver before care begins.
