Respite Care for Family Caregivers
Caring for someone you love is rewarding and exhausting at the same time. Respite care gives you a real break without leaving them in unfamiliar hands.
Caring for an aging parent, a spouse, or a loved one with a disability can be deeply fulfilling. It can also be overwhelming. Family caregivers often carry it quietly until they are running on empty, and the guilt of asking for help makes it harder to ask.
Respite care exists so you can step away and still know your person is safe. Our caregivers step in for a few hours, overnight, or for an extended stretch. They help with daily activities, medication reminders, meal preparation, and companionship, keeping your loved one comfortable in the home they know.
Take the appointment you have been putting off. Sleep through the night. Go to the wedding. Rest is not a luxury for a caregiver, it is what makes it possible to keep going.
Questions About Respite Care
How short or long can respite care be?
As short as a few hours and as long as you need. Some families book a regular weekly block so they can count on it, others call when something comes up.
Can I book respite care for a vacation?
Yes, including overnight and live-in coverage for a week or more. Give as much notice as you can so we can match the right caregiver and do a meet and greet first.
Will my loved one be upset by someone new?
This is the most common worry, and it is why we do a meet and greet before care begins. Your loved one meets their caregiver while you are still there, so the first real visit is not the first time they have met.
Is respite care only for seniors?
No. We provide respite for families caring for adults with disabilities and for people recovering from illness or injury as well.
